Wedding Breakfast/Reception Venue

Located in Glaisdale, Whitby

The Robinson Institute has been at the heart of village life for more than a century, playing host to wedding receptions for the people of Glaisdale and across the Esk Valley.

Whether you choose to marry at the perfectly-sized village church of St Thomas’s or further afield at the Registry Office in Whitby, just 10 miles down the road, the venue can comfortably accommodate 100 seated guests, and has room for up to 176 family and friends for your evening reception.

Set in the heart of the North York Moors, the picturesque village of Glaisdale is surrounded by stunning moorland which offers a fabulous backdrop for your wedding photos, or why not head down to Beggar’s Bridge, built by Thomas Ferris in 1619 to ensure that young lovers would never be parted by the River Esk.

Whitby itself offers a myriad of photo opportunities including the whalebone arch on the West Cliff, the beautiful gardens of Pannett Park and of course, the impressive ruins of Whitby Abbey.

The Robinson Institute provides a range of lighting options to create a romantic and intimate ambiance.

The stage offers a perfect location for you to take your first dance or why not let the DJ take prime position to celebrate the evening?

For caterers, the large professional kitchen provides ample space for your caterer to create a fabulous wedding breakfast or scrumptious evening buffet.
